Isuzu Motors India Leads Commercial Vehicle Exports with 24% Growth in FY2025

Sri City, India April 2025: Isuzu Motors India has emerged as the top commercial vehicle (CV) exporter from India in FY2024-25, marking a significant 24% year-on-year growth. The automaker exported 20,312 units, up from 16,329 units in FY2024, reinforcing its stronghold in global markets and consistent presence among the top three CV exporters in recent years.

Isuzu’s Export Strategy Pays Off

Isuzu manufactures the D-Max pickup range in India, catering to both commercial and personal segments. These vehicles are exported from the company’s Sri City facility in Andhra Pradesh to multiple left-hand and right-hand drive markets. Key export destinations include:

  • Middle East: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan

  • South Asia: Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh

The Isuzu D-Max pickup, known for its rugged build and versatility, is widely used for logistics, farming, fleet operations, and personal adventure applications in both Indian and international markets.

Leadership Remarks on Export Milestone

Rajesh Mittal, President & Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, highlighted:

Toru Kishimoto, Deputy Managing Director, added:

“Growing demand in international markets showcases the world-class quality, reliability, and performance of India-made Isuzu vehicles. Our export growth reflects the rising global trust in Indian manufacturing capabilities.”

Looking Ahead: Domestic Expansion and EV Plans

While celebrating export success, Isuzu is also focused on expanding its domestic footprint in India. The automaker recently rolled out its 100,000th vehicle from its Sri City plant, further establishing its manufacturing prowess.

The company continues to produce the previous generation D-Max in India, even as newer models are launched globally. At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Isuzu unveiled the D-Max electric pickup concept, indicating a future-focused strategy for international markets. However, India launch plans for the next-gen V-Cross remain undisclosed.
