Davanagere: BJP MP Kota Srinivas Poojary has expressed concern over the direction of the Karnataka government, stating that it is unclear where it is headed. He pointed out that a senior minister from the ruling party recently accused someone of a honey trap and even filed a complaint with the Home Minister of his own government, calling it a bizarre situation.
Speaking to reporters in Davanagere, Poojary referred to allegations made in the Assembly by BJP MLAs, who claimed that the government has a “CD factory.” He questioned who was behind this and criticized the suspension of 18 BJP MLAs for six months by the Speaker for raising the issue. He remarked that the Speaker’s position is a sacred one and should uphold the interests of both the ruling and opposition parties, rather than suspending members unfairly.
Poojary also criticized the reservation given to the Muslim community in government projects, stating that the Constitution does not allow religion-based reservations. He claimed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was engaging in appeasement politics, as SC, ST, and OBC communities already have reservation benefits.
Yatnal-Vijayendra conflict has ended
Comparing the internal rift within the BJP to a thunderstorm before the rain, Poojary said, “The storm has now passed, and the land has cooled.” He asserted that the BJP is growing into the largest party in the state and that internal conflicts have been resolved.
