Caste survey, legal guarantee for MSP: Congress releases Haryana manifesto; announces 7 guarantees

NEW DELHI: Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday released the party's manifesto for the Haryana assembly elections .

While speaking on the manifesto, Kharge said the party will conduct a caste survey to ascertain where every community stands in the welfare schemes. He said it would help in identifying the participation of castes in education and jobs.

Kharge promised that the Congress party, if voted to power in Haryana, will give legal guarantee on the MSP.

In total, the Congress has given seven guarantees which the party has said will be fulfilled if they form government in Haryana. The Congress's poll promise aims to cover women, youth, farmers and specially-abled people.

"We are announcing 7 guarantees that we will fulfil once we form government in Haryana... We have divided our 7 promises into 7 sections. Women will be given Rs 2000 every month. We will give Rs 500 every month for gas cylinders... Pensions for the elderly, pensions for specially-abled, and pensions for widows as per the Old pension scheme will be thoroughly implemented, and each category will get Rs 6000 each as pension money... We will give 2 lakh permanent jobs to youth," said Kharge.

Along with Kharge, Delhi Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan were also present at Delhi's headquarters of the Congress party.

The other guarantees include empowerment of women, strengthening social security, secure future for the youth, welfare of families and houses for the poor.
