Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang once admitted that he doesn’t separate life from work, saying he thinks about the company even while watching movies. The remarks were made during an interview with Stripe CEO Patrick Collison last year. “I work from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep,” Jensen Huang said in the interview. “I work seven days a week. When I’m not working, I’m thinking about working… I sit through movies, but I don’t remember them because I’m thinking about work.”
The 62-year-old billionaire described those thoughts as productive, noting: “Sometimes you’re imagining the future and boy, if we did this and that. And it’s working. You’re fantasizing, you’re dreaming.” He added that his ambition is to “turn Nvidia into one giant AI,” joking that only then might he get real downtime. “How great would that be? And then I’ll have work-life balance,” he quipped.
“The thing is, when you want to build something great, it’s not easy to do. And when you’re doing something that’s not easy to do, you’re not always enjoying it,” Jensen Huang said.

Recently, Jensen Huang predicted that the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across industries will lead to a shift towards four-day work weeks. Speaking to Liz Claman on Fox Business Network’s The Claman Countdown, Jensen Huang said that this shift could be another social shift, similar to what happened during previous industrial revolutions. Huang noted that work weeks have changed before, from seven to six days and then to a five-day schedule which is common now. “Every industrial revolution leads to some change in social behavior,” he said, adding that with AI and automation, “the economy will be doing very well.” Jensen Huang further predicted that GDP will grow and productivity will rise.
However, that will not necessarily mean less work, he added. “I have to admit that I’m afraid to say that we are going to be busier in the future than now,” Huang said during the interview.
