Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses officially enter the Indian market today, with pre-orders beginning immediately and nationwide availability set for May 19. The AI-powered eyewear , priced starting at Rs 29,900, will be sold through Ray-Ban .com and select optical retailers across the country.
The glasses feature Meta AI integration , allowing users to make hands-free queries, stream media, and handle communications through voice commands. By saying "Hey Meta," wearers can access information about their surroundings, receive cooking suggestions, or start live translations between English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
"These glasses represent the convergence of iconic style and cutting-edge AI technology," said a Meta spokesperson during the announcement. "They're designed to keep people connected while remaining present in the moment."
Available in the classic Wayfarer design in two sizes, the collection also includes the Skyler model in Shiny Chalky Grey, which offers a more universal fit. All styles are compatible with sun lenses, clear lenses, polarized options, and Transitions® technology, with prescription compatibility available.
The glasses pair with the new Meta AI app , enabling users to continue conversations started on their glasses and enhance photos captured with the device. Meta has positioned these smart glasses as the premier hardware offering in the emerging AI wearables category.
Coming updates will expand functionality to include direct messaging and calls through Instagram, adding to existing integrations with WhatsApp, Messenger, and native messaging apps. Music service compatibility will extend to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Shazam for English-language users.
