"We both need Dove and Hart and K Rich" - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander attributes Oklahoma City Thunder's Game 5 win to a cohesive atmosphere within team

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spoke with all heart about the Oklahoma City Thunder ’s strengths that led them to win in Game 5. He attributed the team’s success to mutual understanding and cohesiveness, and explained other factors that worked in their favor. Shai scored 31 points and helped team achieve 3-2 lead in the Western Conference semi-final series.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was elated with the Game 5 win and called it a result of teamwork. Expressing his thoughts on the driving force that worked behind the team’s success, he highlighted the cohesiveness factor that runs through the team. Sharing his thoughts on the importance of teamwork leading to a win, he said:


“Uh it's a team sport. No one guy can do it. I need Chat. Chat needs me. We both need Dove and Hart and K Rich and so forth and so on. Like we all need each other.”








Further, he said, “Obviously, he's a really talented guy. Um but all we care about is winning the game and we got one tonight. We got to go get one more.”



Shai Gilgeous-Alexander revealed factors that worked in their favor


Oklahoma City Thunder is leading the series, and is at number 1 in the Western Conference. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shared his opinion on the conditions that have helped them put a dominant front in the series.


He was asked, “Your coach talks about the confidence of this team and you all do to a man also the depth of this team to be able to play 10 players consistently in the second round of the playoffs. How significant is that for you all?”








To which, he replied, “Yeah, very uh we're fresh because of it. We like to play we like to play fast. So being fresh helps and it just a different personnel to throw at people. It ultimately makes us all stronger. You know, you're only you're only as good as your weakest link. All 10 of our guys are ready to go no matter the stage and you guys see it every night.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points in Game 5 and played a pivotal role in driving the Thunder to a 112-105 win against the Denver Nuggets. The Thunder got a tough challenge from the Nuggets’ Nikola Dokic, who posted 44-15 in the game.
