MLB fans demand 'All stadium ban' for HR ball collector Zack Hample

Zack Hample , the “ballhawk” of the MLB world is back in the headlines for causing another baseball controversy. The home run ball collector caused another interference at the Steinbrenner stadium, which almost caused Rays’ to lose the game. The incident enraged baseball fans worldwide, majority demanding a permanent ban on Hample and preventing him from attending any more MLB matches.

Fans enraged by Zack Hample’s behaviorOn April 8, 2025 the Los Angeles Angels faced the Tampa Bay Rays in the Steinbrenner stadium. What seemed like a peaceful game, suddenly turned chaotic when a potential catch was interfered.


When Angels’ Kyren Paris went for a two-run home run in the second inning, the Rays’ Christopher Morel was in the perfect position to catch the ball and prevent the home run. However, when the ball was about to land on his glove, someone from the seats caught it first. Yes, it was none other than the notorious ballhawk Zack Hample.


Though the home run was sent for review on the basis of fan interference , it was still ruled as a home run. This incident caused an uproar on X, with the majority of fans demanding Hample to be banned from the stadiums.

Dan Clark, a well-known MLB blogger, went on to call Hample a “ certified loser” on X.


Another fan went on to say “ —we can ALL agree on is that Zack Hample absolutely freaking SUCKS!


Besides, this is not the first time that Zack Hample has caused an interference in the game. His passion for collecting home run balls is clearly seen in his collection. He has more than 4,600 homer balls, collected from over 48 stadiums.
Did MLB officially ban Zack Hample?Soon after the Rays-Angels game, a tweet surfaced on X, causing fans to believe that MLB has finally taken the decision of banning Zack Hample.


The tweet showed an official document stating that Zack Hample is now banned from attending games for the whole 2025 season. It immediately gained traction, had over 14K likes, and was reposted over 1.4K times.

However, it turned out that the announcement was fake, as the document had a lot of typos, errors, and majority of it covered the MLB-ESPN contract. It turns out that MLB has not yet banned the ballhawk. Will MLB ban him in the near future? It still remains to be seen.
