When Bill Belichick ’s romance with former college cheerleader Jordon Hudson went public in June 2024, few could have predicted just how much buzz it would generate—especially among people who have worked closely with the legendary coach. Erin Andrews , one of the most seasoned sideline reporters in the game, recently opened up about her curiosity surrounding the relationship, admitting that she’s been trying to get details straight from someone who knows Belichick better than most: Tom Brady .

Erin Andrews turns to Tom Brady for insight Into Belichick’s love life

While guest hosting Today with Jenna & Friends, Erin Andrews didn’t hold back. She admitted she’s been pestering Tom Brady, now a top NFL analyst with Fox Sports, for the inside scoop on his former coach’s new relationship. “He [Belichick] was front row [at the pageant], which I gotta say, people have asked a lot and I work with Tom Brady — so I’ve been asking him a lot, ‘What do you think about this?’” Andrews said, highlighting the unique vantage point both she and Brady share—having seen Belichick through different lenses.

Hudson, 24, earned third place and a style award at the recent Miss Maine USA pageant, where Belichick, 73, was spotted in the front row—an uncharacteristically public and supportive move for someone known for being intensely private. According to Andrews, that moment alone speaks volumes about how smitten the famously stoic coach may be. “She’s got congeniality points if she’s got him showing up front row,” Andrews noted with a smirk.

Despite her connection with Brady, Andrews didn’t reveal much about what he might have shared behind the scenes. Instead, she reflected on her own interactions with Belichick. “Bill Belichick is royalty, legend. He’s it, he is the Mount Rushmore. I know how he is on the field. He’s very matter-of-fact, you get two seconds to talk to him,” she said. “I am full-blown stomach cramps when I get ready to talk to him because I don’t want to mess up. And I kind of get excited and I start doing what I'm doing now and talking too much.”

Her candid comments painted a humanizing portrait of the NFL giant and illustrated just how striking it is to see Belichick step so willingly into the public eye for someone. It’s not just sports fans who are raising their eyebrows—Andrews admitted that even trying to tune into the pageant with friends proved difficult due to a paywall. “I think it was forty bucks,” she said, laughing. “But I heard through the grapevine that this pageant was very hard to get a credential for. It was kind of like ‘the pageant’ to get to.”

Jenna Bush Hager chimed in during the broadcast, suggesting that Hudson and Belichick’s appearance might have boosted the event’s profile. Andrews agreed: “I believe so.”

The couple has been under a microscope since their relationship went public, especially after an awkward moment during Belichick’s CBS Sunday Morning interview aired on April 27, when Hudson interrupted a question about how they met. Since then, speculation has run wild, with some outlets reporting concerns from Belichick’s inner circle about Hudson’s influence.

A source close to the couple told PEOPLE, “They’re really into each other. He’s totally hypnotized by her and completely under her spell.” Another insider doubled down on the positive outlook, stating, “He’s never been happier than he is with Jordon. She brings a positive energy, and people haven’t seen him this relaxed and laidback in a while.”

Whether it’s love or just a whirlwind media moment, what’s certain is that this unexpected pairing has captured everyone’s attention—even those like Erin Andrews and Tom Brady, who know Bill Belichick best from his most intense and no-nonsense days on the football field.
