Draymond Green may not add a huge score— even falling short of double digits— but he has been one of the most important players on the roster. Green has proved his case again and again, and head coach Steve Kerr would never deny his importance. In the NBA playoff Game 4 win, Green defended a shot from Alperen Sengun , which would have slipped the game away from the Warriors.

Draymond Green saved the Golden State Warriors ' game against the Houston Rockets

In a late-night defensive heroics and with the help of his teammate, Jimmy Butler , Draymond Green saved playoff game 4. The Golden State Warriors secured a stunning 109-106 win at the Chase Center, San Francisco, now leading the series 3-1.

Green stopped a throw from Alperen Sengun, who scored a game-high 31 points for the Rockets, in the final moments of the game.

The Athletic’s Anthony Slater described the moment perfectly on his recent post on X, “Here’s the late Draymond Green stop on Alperen Sengun, the flying Jimmy Butler rebound from the baseline and Green’s ensuing celebration. Warriors lead the series 3-1 over the Rockets.”

He also celebrated the game win with an incredible remark, “No, no, no, not on me,” he said.

It was indeed a masterful defensive effort from the veteran.

As for his stats in the game, Green put together a classic performance, doing a little bit of everything despite some struggles with shooting. In just over 30 minutes of action, Green scored 6 points, connecting on 2 of his 7 shots from the field. Interestingly, both of his made baskets came from beyond the arc, where he went 2-for-5, showing a willingness to let it fly from deep.

Beyond scoring, Green made his presence felt on the boards, grabbing 8 rebounds — 1 on the offensive end and 7 defensive. He also handed out 2 assists and added a block on the defensive side. However, it wasn’t a flawless night for him. Green turned the ball over 5 times and committed 6 personal fouls, which limited his ability to stay aggressive defensively.

Even with the shooting issues and the turnovers, Green finished with a +17 plus-minus rating, one of the better marks among the starters.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently shared why Green is very important to the team. “No, Draymond's, he's been around forever,” Kerr said. “He's an instigator. He's always going to be in the mix and because of his career, his championships, his fire, he's going to be a lightning rod, and that's all part of it.”
