Arshdeep Singh became the highest wicket-taker for Punjab Kings in IPL history on Friday night when he took the wicket of Phil Salt against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In a rain-curtailed 14-over-a-side match, Arshdeep struck early to dismiss Salt in the opening over.
In the first over of the match that was delayed due to rain, Arshdeep bowled a delivery on the shorter side of length around the leg stump, Salt went for the swing which brought about a top edge. Josh Inglis came around to it after a short run and held on with a neatly taken diving catch forward.

That took his tally for PBKS to 85 wickets, breaking the tie with Piyush Chawla who got there in 87 matches. Arshdeep, meanwhile, is playing his 72nd match against the RCB.
PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first against the RCB. "We will bowl first. It's a good ground to chase, and it's a rain-interrupted game, overs have been reduced, will have a fair idea of how the wicket will play, and that was always the plan. Stoinis comes in for Maxwell, and Harpreet Brar is in. We need to have the right players at the right place, especially the angles," Shreyas Iyer said after winning the toss.
RCB are placed at No. 3 on the points table, while PBKS find themselves at No. 4. Both teams have four wins and two defeats after playing six games each. However, RCB's net run rate is slightly better than PBKS's.
