Vadodara: A woman in her twenties has accused her father-in-law's brother of molestation during a power outage at their residence in the Nandesari area of Vadodara. The alleged incident occurred on Monday night when a thunderstorm led to a blackout in the locality.
According to officials from the 181 Abhayam women's helpline, the woman was resting in her room with the door open due to a power outage. During this time, the accused, a man in his sixties, allegedly entered her room and touched her inappropriately. The woman raised an alarm, prompting him to flee.
She later informed her family, who reached out to 181 Abhayam for support. During a counselling session, the woman disclosed that this was not the first instance of inappropriate behaviour. She claimed the accused had previously lingered around her room without reason and attempted unsolicited conversations, despite warnings from her husband to stay away.
With her family's backing, the woman lodged a formal complaint at the Nandesari police station. A case has been registered, and authorities have begun an investigation.
