Vadodara: Four policemen of the Dahod district police were suspended as they were absent from duty for the NEET entrance test. They were assigned duty at the strongroom for the exams.
The strongroom for the NEET in Dahod was created near the Dahod taluka panchayat office. Four policemen from the Dahod rural police station were assigned duty at the location by the district police.
Sources said that a senior official overseeing the arrangements found the personnel missing on duty. He reported the lapse to the district police superintendent, who suspended the personnel on Tuesday. The suspended policemen include head constable Hasmukh Nayka and police constables Rajesh Vaghji, Vinod Deepsinh, and Nilesh Kadakiya.
The NEET for undergraduate medical admissions this year was monitored strictly in the wake of the irregularities last year. Elaborate arrangements were made for the test across the country, including Dahod.
