Mangaluru: Deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan MP warned that disciplinary action would be taken against staff and surveyors, who show negligence during the survey of the ‘darkhastu' (govt grant) land to complete the podi process (demarcation and fixing of boundaries).
At a review meeting at the DC's office with tahsildars and survey officials from all taluks regarding the ongoing survey on Tuesday, he said the objective of the initiative was to measure and subdivide land for all approved applicants under a single survey number simultaneously. To facilitate this, the revenue department must prepare data from Form 1 to 5. A dedicated software has been developed, and all podi cases must now be managed online, he said
He noted that some taluks in the district showed unsatisfactory progress in the campaign. He urged the concerned tahsildars and survey officials to prioritise and clear pending cases listed in Form 1 to 5 to clear the podi process. The DC warned that stern action will be taken against any negligent staff or surveyors involved in the process. He further instructed that recommendations be made to cancel the licences of surveyors who neglect their land survey responsibilities.
The meeting was attended by additional deputy commissioner G Santosh Kumar, assistant commissioners, tahsildars, and land records officers.
