Jaipur: A 40-year-old businessman, working for the BJP as one of its mandal presidents in Bharatpur, is in a critical condition after being attacked with a stone over a property dispute in the district Kotwali police station area Sunday.

SP (Bharatpur) Mridul Kachawa said that the injured, identified as Rishab Bansal is currently in a private hospital in Jaipur after the assault. He said that the case pertains to a matter of property dispute.

Sources said that a relative of Bansal purchased a property a few days ago, but there was some dispute over a floor in the house. Bansal went on Sunday to discuss the dispute. The sources said that while Bansal was speaking with the other party, someone from their family threw a stone from the roof, hitting Bansal on the head. He fell unconscious, sustaining severe injuries, including fractures to his neck and spine.

A relative of the injured claimed that after hearing Bansal's cries, they went to check on him and found him bleeding heavily. They immediately took him to RBM Hospital, from where doctors referred him to Jaipur. According to the officials, doctors said Bansal is in critical condition with severe injuries.

"We have sealed the house where the incident took place. Bansal's family filed an FIR Monday since they were busy Sunday taking him to the hospital and ensuring treatment," said the official. "As his condition stabilised today (Monday), his family returned to Bharatpur from Jaipur and filed the FIR," said an official.

Meanwhile, Bansal's family said that they don't have any previous enmity with the perpetrators. Instead, they called Bansal to discuss the issue related to the verandah, and suddenly their family members attacked Bansal, causing serious injuries.
