Lucknow: The postmortem report of 35-year-old Malihabad resident and property dealer Nand Kishore confirmed suicide as the cause of death.

His body was found hanging from a tree in a mango grove on April 6. His bike was also parked there. Nand Kishore's family has alleged that he was murdered and hanged from a tree, with his knees bent and touching the ground.

Probe revealed that the property dealer's girlfriend, Rekha (name changed), harassed him to such an extent that he committed suicide. The police will now make her an accused in the case of abetment to suicide .

Nand Kishore's elder brother, Amar Nath, said he had left for work at around 5:30 pm on Saturday. Around 7:30pm, Rekha called up deceased's nephew, Deepak, that Nand Kishore was being harassed by three people and being forcibly taken towards a mango grove.

She also informed the police.

"During probe, it surfaced that Nand Kishore had a phone conversation with Rekha, who was pressuring him to marry while Nand Kishore wanted some time. This led to an argument. Miffed Nand Kishore told her that he was going to commit suicide," said DCP, West Zone, Vishwajeet Srivastava.

The DCP added that scared by his words, Rekha concocted a story. The police said she misled the family and the police to make the case look like a murder.

"She could not give any information about the reason for naming those three people. The police will now take action against her," he said.
