HYDERABAD: A day after a five-month pregnant woman lost her twins due to an alleged botched procedure, the Ibrahimpatnam police on Tuesday recorded her statement.
"We are waiting for the DMHO's inquiry report and are seeking legal opinion.
The victim is receiving treatment at Gandhi Hospital," an Ibrahimpatnam police officer told TOI.
The 26-year-old woman, B Keerthi, lost her twins after nurses at Vijaya Laxmi Hospital administered an injection after being told to do so by the doctor via phone.
The injections not only failed to reduce her pain, but also caused her stitches to rupture. The hospital was later sealed by officials, and patients undergoing treatment were shifted to a govt facility in Vanasthalipuram.
A case was registered at the Ibrahimpatnam police station against Dr V Anuradha Reddy and the two nurses.
