New Delhi: On September 16, banks in several cities across India will be closed in observance of Eid-E-Milad, also known as Milad-un-Nabi, which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. This day holds special significance for Muslims around the world.Banks in cities such as Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed on Monday.
What About The Stock Market?While banks in many regions will be closed for the holiday, the Indian stock market will continue to operate. However, there will be no trading in the Currency Segment due to the settlement holiday on September 16. Other segments, including equity trading, will remain open as usual.
