India suffered a close 3-wicket defeat to South Africa in the second T20I, leaving the series tied at 1-1. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side thrashed South Africa by 61 runs in the first game, but failed to back the performance with another good one. Despite the defeat in the previous match, India had a few positives to take and the biggest of them all was Varun Chakravarthy, who claimed five wickets for 17 runs and kept India in the hunt. India could only score 124-6 while batting first and it seemed the match would be a one-sided affair, however, Varun along with other bowlers gave South Africa a run for their money. The third T20I will be played on November 13 at SuperSport Park in Centurion. India played an unchanged XI in the second T20I but there are chances the team might look to give other players a shot in the XI for the next game. Abhishek Sharma has been a flop in the series. In fact, he hasn't been among the runs in the last few games so his place is under threat. However, given that he can be a long-term prospect for Team India, he might get a full series to prove his potential. India's batting depth was exposed in the second T20I as the lower order failed to give the team a strong finish. India would like to add more batting depth to the team so they could play Jitesh Sharma in place of Arshdeep Sing or Avesh Khan. Arshdeep did not have a great outing in the second game and leaked 41 runs, but his left-arm bowling gives variety to the bowling attack. Avesh Khan could the one who makes way for Jitesh. India will still have five proper bowling options in Arshdeep, Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel. Abhishek Sharma can chip in a couple if required as the conditions have favoured the spinners. India's Likely XI for 3rd T20I: Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy.
