Apple's iPhone 16e has plummeted to its lowest price ever ahead of the Black Friday sales. Customers can now bag the iPhone 16e for £17 when spreading the cost with Sky Mobile.
Originally priced at £20 on its February launch, Sky has gradually slashed the cost throughout the year. This latest reduction marks another record low for the 'powerful' yet affordable phone, which now equates to roughly 56p per day.
The deal arrives hot on the heels of Apple's new iPhone 17 launch and provides a more budget-friendly option for those looking to upgrade without splashing out on the latest model. To snap up the iPhone 16e deal, customers just need to pay an upfront cost of £18, which also provides a 100MB data allowance.
However, this may not be enough for some, so heavier users might want to consider upgrading to one of Sky's latest data deals, such as 50GB for £10 for the first nine months. It's worth noting that Sky's smartphone contracts run for 36 months, but customers can switch to a new phone anytime after 24 months at no extra cost.
Sky isn't the only retailer slashing prices, as Amazon has cut its own iPhone 16e price from £599 to £498.82 for those preferring to buy outright. Meanwhile, Currys-backed site Mobiles.co.uk is offering the iPhone 16e for £24.99 per month, and while it's pricier than Sky's entry-level plan, it comes with a whopping 100GB and no upfront cost, reports the Daily Record.
Despite its lower price tag, Apple describes the iPhone 16e as a 'powerful member of the iPhone 16 family'. This model is designed to be a more affordable version of the standard iPhone 16, boasting a 6.1" display, AI features with Apple Intelligence and Apple's A18 chip.
The device also features a 48MP Fusion camera and new safety features, including Emergency SOS and Roadside Assistance.
Our Technology Editor, David Snelling got his hands on the iPhone 16e when it launched and said it 'packs quite a punch for a much cheaper price'. He said: "This is a great smartphone that packs quite a punch for a much cheaper price than its siblings. From the moment you pull it from the packaging, you get the feeling of a very premium device in your hand.
"This is an iPhone 16 at heart, with Apple simply removing a few of the bells and whistles to help bring the price down. It doesn't get all of the features found on the iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, but if things such as Camera Control and MagSafe don't really bother you, then this is a solid device to consider.
"What you do get is a beautifully made phone that is built for the future and the next generation of Apple Intelligence updates. It also comes with the A18 processor tucked inside.
"This supremely powerful chip - which also drives the more expensive iPhone 16 - not only breezes through tasks without a hint of a stutter and also extends battery life, but also offers full access to Apple Intelligence. You can't go wrong with any of these iPhone models, and the iPhone 16e's lower price makes it seriously tempting.
"Just be aware that its lower cost means fewer features."
