A warning has been issued to Helen Skelton fans today after the former Strictly dancer and BBC Morning Live presenter has been targeted by a wave of online scammers with x-rated adverts.

Helen Skelton, 41, is currently on a break from her BBC Morning Live hosting duties but her downtime has been interrupted by a wave of AI-powered ads using her image to try to target her unsuspecting fanbase.

Users of social media platform X, formerly Twitter, have been reporting seeing lewd adverts using AI images of Helen in underwear to try to get people to click on untrustworthy websites and today is trending.

@bluesbreaker196 said: "Anyone else having Helen Skelton popping up in their feed every 5 minutes?"

@johnH609232364 said: "What's with all these ads about Helen Skelton. They're everywhere. No matter how many I've blocked, there are more.

"Her personal stuff is not so interesting that hundreds of fake ads need to be made, surely..!!??"

One such ad showed a fake AI image of Helen Skelton in just a bra, with the caption 'No one expected such behaviour from Helen Skelton'.

Another, with the caption 'Helen Skelton confessed everything' used a fake image of Helen with her cleavage spilling out of a bathrobe on a hotel bed.

Now, East Midlands Cyber Security Centre has issued a warning to users over the scam ads.

It said: "X users may have seen clickbait ads in their feeds that appear to be targeting television presenter and actress Helen Skelton, similar to the one below.

"Our advice is to not click on the ads. Previous ads of a similar nature have led to people being scammed."

It comes just weeks after a batch of scam ads targeting Martin Lewis trended on the platform and the money expert was forced to issue a warning about how con artists use celebrity images to try to trick people into parting with personal information, passwords or even money.

Mum Helen previously announced she is returning to BBC Morning Live next week.

She told fans: "Morning Live is taking a bit of a break for a couple of weeks" but the mum-of-three reassured fans that the show will be back soon.

"We will be back on Monday, October 23rd."
