The days may be getting shorter and the temperatures cooler, but Brits are in for an .
On October 16, the mercury will climb to 20C in some areas, with than Autumn usually brings.
Radar from WX Charts shows that around 3pm tomorrow, southern England, in particular the south-east, will enjoy a period of welcome warm weather.
The top temperature, around , will be around 20C - but large areas of the Home Counties, eastern England and the Midlands will see temperatures north of 18C.
According to the Met Office, the warmer conditions will arrive thanks to toasty air being swept up from the southern Mediterranean and north-west Africa.
Wales meanwhile will see cooler conditions with temperatures around 14C. The picture is the same in the south-west of England and Northern Ireland.
Scotland, however, is not expected to enjoy such pleasant conditions. Instead, the Scottish Borders will see temperatures around 11C or 12C.
The Highlands will see the mercury hovering around 9C or 10C by mid-afternoon on October 16.
Today:A cloudy start for many, with drizzle over the hills. Some bright or sunny spells developing at times through the day. The increasing risk of heavy showery rain in the south and west though the evening. Warm in the south.
Tonight:Outbreaks of heavy and perhaps thundery rain will push north and eastwards across the UK through the evening and overnight. A mild night to come.
Wednesday:Further outbreaks of heavy and thundery rain pushing northeastwards across the UK. Some localised flooding possible, mainly focused in the west. Temperatures above average, feeling warm in any sunshine.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:Sunny spells and scattered showers for Thursday. A band of rain slowly pushing eastwards through Friday and into Saturday. Brighter skies either side of the rain. Temperatures staying above average.
