Today marks two years since the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II. The monarch passed away at her Scottish residence at Balmoral Castle on September 8, 2022, aged 96, ending a remarkable 70-year reign.

She was laid to rest on September 19 that year in The King George VI Memorial Chapel with her husband, Prince Philip, who passed away in 2021.

In attendance at Queen Elizabeth's funeral were Prince William and Princess Kate and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.

However, the solemn occasion came just one year after The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's bombshell interview with US talk show host Oprah Winfrey, in which they levelled accusations of bullying and racism against the Royal Family.

It was just the latest instalment in an ongoing feud between the two royal brothers - but three hidden moments from the day itself may have shed light on their relationship.

Prince William's order

Despite their falling out, Harry and William were spotted having a short exchange at the funeral.

The Prince of Wales gestured to Kate to offer up seats to the Duke and Duchess in the chapel. Lip reader Jacqui Press told the Daily Mail that Harry asked his brother if they should "go through first".

And fellow lip reader Jeremy Freeman explained to the Daily Star that William told Kate to "let them go first" before his wife stepped away and allowed them to pass through. Kate then tapped Charlotte's back and said: "You go now."

In a moment that hinted at a possible reconciliation between the two brothers, Harry revealed that he shared a dark joke with William.

Harry, 40, reminisced about the similarities between the funeral and that of his mother Princess Diana in 1997, in an interview with ITV. He said: "Just recently, my brother and I were walking the same route [at Elizabeth's funeral]. And we sort of joked to each other and said, 'At least we know the way'."

Us Weekly reported that the Duke had shared the key differences between the funerals of Queen Elizabeth and his mother.

He said saying goodbye felt "very similar", with the "only difference" being the "levels of emotion". Harry explained that his grandmother's was more of a "celebration" of her accomplishments, while Diana was "taken away far too young".

Harry's 'regretful looks'

Over the course of the funeral, Harry reportedly shot several glances at his brother that looked regretful, according to a body language expert.

Harry and William walked behind the coffin as it was taken to Westminster Abbey. Once the service had ended, they walked with the coffin to Wellington Arch.

However, it was during the service that Harry glanced at his brother, claimed body language expert Judi James. She told The Sun there were "at least two occasions" when he looked at him.

Judi said the Duke's expression "suggested sadness and possible regret", but once it came to the second walk behind the coffin, he gave a "more intense signal of grief".

The expert said that he watched his brother, nephew and sister-in-law as they "filed in front of him" without looking, with Harry's face seeming to "pucker" while his lips "sucked in again".
