A sweeping 290 mile wall of rain could hammer the UK in the next two days after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning about downpours.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning of heavy rain spells on Tuesday and Wednesday night with the warning stating that it "may lead to some travel disruptions and flooding."
The impact of the weather could include a slight chance of power cuts, loss of other services to homes and businesses, communities temporarily cut off by flooded roads, houses and businesses, transport delays or cancellations and difficult driving conditions.
Areas of heavy rain are expected to begin and push north across the warning weather. Rain will then develop in southwest England during the late afternoon before becoming heavier and expanding north on Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
It is reported that many places in the yellow warning area will see around 10 - 20 mm of rain. However, parts of southwest England and south Wales may see more over the six-hour period.
A few places may see 50 - 80 mm of rainfall in the six hours as well as some parts in the south of the warning area could experience thunderstorms with lightning.
Some advice for those who live in the warning area. The Met Office said: "Check if your property could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.
"Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.
"People cope better with power cuts when they have prepared for them in advance. It's easy to do; consider gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items.
"Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area."
