Meghan Markle's new 'revenge' wardrobe as expert reveals clear message

It's no secret that being part of the Royal Family means following a very strict dress code - covering legs and shoulders, no bright nail polish, but wearing bright clothes.

is one former royal who struggled to adhere to the rigid rules and since dropping her official role, along with Prince Harry, she has been slowly going back to her old style.

Since the Duchess of Sussex left the Royal Family and moved to California, she has been seen in outfits that she may have not got away with while on official duty.

Recently the former Suits actress has been seen in plunging necklines and dresses with slits which mark a shift in her style and where she is in life, according to experts.

It may even be a "revenge wardrobe" according to one expert who says Meghan is using her clothes to show that she is free.

Meghan's most bold look to date was a red Carolina Herrera frock, with a low neckline and front slit, which she wore to the Children's Hospital Gala last weekend.

Hope Flynn, founder of female empowerment and community , told MailOnline: "Meghan's new revenge wardrobe is all about showing that she is free, in control of her narrative and completely over all of the drama.

"She is showing the world (especially the critics) that she is doing just fine - in fact, better than ever since stepping away from her royal duties."

Of course "revenge" wardrobes are not new to royals and Princess Diana most famously showed off her own racy look after the then-Prince Charles came clean about his affair with the now-queen Camilla.

Diana wore an off-the-shoulder fitted black dress at an event at the same night Charles made the confession.

Celebrity stylist Rochelle White told that people may use a "revenge outfit" to feel powerful.

"Clothes can say a lot without saying anything and how that is interpreted is down to individuals," she continued. "Many things can be misunderstood, taken out of context and over analysed.

"What Meghan is rocking these days could well be a sign of revenge to everyone including the ones who criticise her the most."
