The Lionesses have received another accolade following their historic success in Switzerland this summer. At Euro 2025, Sarina Wiegman's side secured a first major tournament victory for England on international soil, following a dramatic penalty shootout win over Spain in the final.
It was also the first time an England senior side has ever retained an international title, following their Euro 2022 glory. Incredible scenes followed during Tuesday's victory homecoming, with around 65,000 fans lining the streets of London for an open-top bus parade. Now, the squad have been given another reason to celebrate.
The squad are now set to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame. Tim Desmond, National Football Museum CEO, has issued a passionate statement explaining the decision.
"This squad made history - again," he told englandfootball.com. "To win back-to-back European Championships is a phenomenal achievement, and it's only right that we honour the team and Sarina Wiegman in our Hall of Fame.

"Their legacy goes beyond silverware. They've changed perceptions, brought the nation together, inspired future generations, and set new standards for English football."
There are likely to be more significant honours to come for the Lionesses. Penalty hero Chloe Kelly and goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, who was player of the match in the final, are among the favourites to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year in December.
There have also been widespread calls for coach Wiegman to be made an honorary dame. The Dutchwoman claimed she had not even considered the honour, but did speak of her appreciation for the support she received when the squad visited Downing Street this week.
"I haven't thought about that," she said. "But I feel so much respect from England. From the royal family too, and I think that's the most important thing. It's very special to get that respect."
