once labelled "loyal and discreet" during the , according to a royal expert.
The late Princess of Wales confided in former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond about the state of her marriage to the then Prince of Wales, long before her .
Now Ms Bond spoke to 's show Royal Exclusive Live event and revealed what.
She said: "She was complicated and confusing but I liked her a lot. She invited me to the Palace a couple of times for talks.
"We had long, long, long chats and she told me everything practically, almost everything in Panorama, before Panorama.
"She said, 'There were three of us in this marriage', and whether she had affairs and her view on Camilla. She told me she thought that Camilla was loyal and discreet and deserved some form of recognition."
When host and royal photographer Arthur Edwards remarked on how she never reported the conversation before, the expert replied: "Diana said as I was leaving, every time, 'Jennie this is just between you and me', so what can you do?"
In 1995, Diana opened up about the breakdown of her marriage to Charles, after famously saying "there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded".
She also confirmed her own relationship with British former cavalry officer James Hewitt, saying: "Yes, I adored him. Yes, I was in love with him."
The interview was widely criticised after it emerged Mr Bashir faked documents to secure it.
In 2022, it was reported that the BBC had paid damages to the former private secretary of Diana, Patrick Jephson, for the "harm caused to him" over the interview.
It followed an investigation launched after the late princess's brother, Earl Spencer, alleged that the journalist showed fake financial documents relating to her former private secretary and another former royal household member, and untrue stories about the Royal Family to gain access to the princess.
