In upcoming scenes, Emmerdale legend Bernice Blackstock (played by Samantha Giles) returns to the village after betraying her family and business partner Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) two years ago. Before Bernice's shock exit, it came to light that she had taken out a loan in her sister Nicola King's (Nicola Wheeler). This resulted in the bailiffs knocking on her front door out of the blue.
When Nicola discovered her own flesh and blood was behind the twisted move, she threatened to go to the police. Fearing Nicola would file a criminal complaint, Bernice went into hiding, booked a cab, and fled the area, to Nicola and her daughter Gabby Thomas' (Rosie Bentham) disgust.
In the end, Nicola backed down about reporting Bernice to the police for fraud, but she did issue her sister an ultimatum instead. She demanded Bernice sign over her half of the ownership of the B&B and said she would handle the mounting debt.
Bernice agreed, leaving Bob with a new business partner, but she confirmed she was still leaving Emmerdale as a result of breaking her family's trust - and it left her father, Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower), heartbroken.
In upcoming scenes, Nicola's left outraged to see Bernice walking around the village.
An apologetic Bernice soon arrives at the B&B and confides in Bob about Gabby and Nicola being livid with her.
When Bob comforts her, Bernice is clearly dying to build bridges. As the duo share a bottle of wine, they reminisce about their lost love.
Is Bernice back to stay in the village permanently, or will her family soon push her out again?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
