Coleen Nolan was overcome with emotion as she paid tribute to former Loose Women co-star Lynda Bellingham on-air, struggling to continue.
The ex-singer had a close bond with the Oxo advert actress, having shared the ITV stage with her and witnessed her final TV appearance.
Coleen recalled Lynda's last interview on Loose Women, where she told emotional viewers that she was ending her chemotherapy and wanted fans to remember her for being "honest". Coleen was unable to keep her composure.
Even at that time, Coleen found it difficult to articulate her feelings and was tearful on set. A decade later, she remembered a poignant moment they shared after the emotional episode.
Lynda knew that Coleen, a former member of the Nolan sisters, had found the conversation challenging and would need a cigarette break, reports .
The singer recollected: "She hated smoking, but she said, 'I'll come with you. I might as well have a cigarette'." Reflecting on that memory, Coleen confessed: "I really miss her," before breaking down in tears.
Later, the atmosphere became even more charged when Christopher Biggins joined the cast and delivered a heartfelt tribute to the courageous TV star, reminiscing warmly about her character. Adding to the surprises, her two sons Robert and Michael sent a voice message tribute to ITV, which was broadcast on the show.
Lynda's two sons said they remain "bursting with pride" because of their mum's outstanding legacy, thanking all, including the Loose Women panel, for honouring her memory a decade later.
As cameras panned back to the studio, tears flowed freely as tributes poured in for the adored celebrity who passed away on October 14, 2014.
The ITV team were deeply moved when they learned of Lynda's passing in her husband Michael's arms, occurring just a fortnight after her last appearance alongside Coleen.
In an emotional conclusion to the show, Coleen rose to give a standing ovation, applauding and dedicating "this one's for you Lynda," while host Christine showed support with a gentle touch on her shoulder.
Loose Women airs on ITV1, from 12:30pm, weekdays.
