A Gogglebox star has jokingly said that they are "retiring" as their co-star and close friend joked that they would need to find a replacement. Channel 4 stars Abbie Lynn and Georgia Bell spent some time away together, away from the popular Friday-night show as they shared an update on social media.
Mum-of-two, Georgia, 25, was looking a little worse for wear, and she relaxed on a sofa with her head resting on her hand. Abbie seemed to be in a much more jubilant mood as she explained what was going on in the video which was posted to the official Gogglebox Instagram account. "Poor Georgia," she said. "She goes on her first night out in about a year and she can't hack it anymore." Her co-star then issued a two-word response, saying: "I've retired." Abbie continued: "Retired at 25, eh?" Georgia replied, looking absolutely exhausted, as she said: "That's our going out days over now. You've missed your slot."
Abbie grinned into the camera as she teased about making a replacement. "I'll have to find someone else to go out with," she said. But Georgia was completely unbothered as she held her hand up in defeat and said: "That's fine!"
Fans of Gogglebox thought that the interaction was hilarious, with many viewers commenting on the post with crying laughing emojis. One keen fan wrote: "Can I say you two make me laugh on Gogglebox and your dog is amazing."
Another added: "You two are so nice," while a third penned: "You make me giggle".
The update comes just a year after Georgia welcomed her second child into the world. Baby Ralphie James Newby was born shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday, November 10 last year.
Posting a series of adorable snaps Georgia said: "Our precious boy born November 10 11.27pm weighing 7lb 10oz. Settling into the life of a family of five, we all love you unbelievable amounts little one."
Some of the Channel 4 show's stalwarts including Jenny and Lee and Ellie and Izzie rushed to congratulate her.
Sharing a photo of her best friend after giving birth, co-star Abbie said: "Imagine giving birth to a beautiful baby boy and looking this stunning! Proud bestie moment."
Georgia and her partner, Josh, are also parents to their other son, Hugh, who was born in July 2022.
