are likely to battle Liverpool for the signing of in the summer. While the Reds might be in a strong position, having nurtured a positive relationship with Newcastle over the past few years, the Gunners might be at more of a disadvantage.
Liverpool and Newcastle have reportedly discussed a swap deal involving Anthony Gordon and Joe Gomez in the past, while the Magpies have previously shown an interest in Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott. Arsenal might not have the same line of communication, especially as sporting director Andrea Berta is new to his job. Express Sport looks at four potential candidates for swap deals that Arsenal can tempt Newcastle with, in a bid to persuade their Premier League rivals to send Isak to north London over Liverpool.
Reiss Nelson
Nelson remains on Arsenal's books, despite seeming like he has no long-term future in north London for quite some time. The 25-year-old's contract has two years remaining, so he still carries some value for Arsenal.
Using Nelson, who has spent this season on loan at Fulham, in a swap deal could be an option for Arsenal if they want to bring down the price of Isak's possible transfer. Jacob Murphy is currently Newcastle's only option on the right wing, and Eddie Howe may want more competition.
Jakub Kiwior
Newcastle are likely to enter the market for a new centre-back this summer. Their long-term interest in Marc Guehi is well documented, and the Magpies are understood to be set to try their luck for the 24-year-old again this year.
Another option for the Magpies could be Kiwior, who has proven himself to be a very capable replacement for the injured Gabriel. The Poland international has largely been excellent for Arsenal over the past month. However, his game time will be limited when Gabriel returns next season, particularly with Riccardo Calafiori another option at centre-back.
Newcastle could be an enticing destination for Kiwior.
Leandro Trossard
Isak's potential arrival, in addition to a possible new left-winger, could make Trossard surplus to requirements at Arsenal. The Belgian has had a good season, but might not make Arsenal's best team after a busy summer of recruitment.
His versatility would be beneficial to Newcastle, who might consider a player-exchange deal involving Isak.

Fabio Vieira
Vieira seems unlikely to win a place at Arsenal when he returns from his loan at Porto in the summer. The Portugal international would be an excellent fit for Newcastle, and can play in central midfield or wide on the right.
A swap deal could suit all parties.
