Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm activity and lightning is likely to continue in many parts of Odisha September 13, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.
Rainfall of varied intensity will continue in view of a cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining west central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha & north Andhra Pradesh. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to lash several districts of the state till the morning of September 14.
In next 24 hours, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri. The weather agency has issued a yellow warning for these districts.
