Punjab Police Launch 'Cyber Mittar' Chatbot to Help Citizens with Cyber Crime Queries

Send Push

Punjab Police have introduced a new chatbot called 'Cyber Mittar' to provide quick assistance for queries related to cybercrime. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to enhance cybercrime reporting and protect citizens in the digital world.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav announced the launch on Monday, emphasizing that the chatbot will help in real-time cybercrime reporting and ensure the rapid resolution of financial fraud cases. Cyber Mittar is designed to offer 24/7 assistance, providing confidential reporting and swift responses to citizen inquiries regarding cyber threats.

The DGP highlighted that the Punjab Cyber Crime Cell is equipped with highly trained, domain-specific personnel who are dedicated to supporting citizens and guiding them in tackling modern digital crimes. The team operates round the clock to help victims recover funds quickly and secure compromised devices using advanced tools and real-time transaction freezing.

In addition to the chatbot, Punjab Police have also upscaled their #Helpline 1930 and the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting & Management System (CFCFRMS). These tools, combined with Cyber Mittar, aim to secure citizens' funds and prevent further financial losses from cyber frauds.

DGP Yadav reiterated the police department’s commitment to safeguarding the public in both physical and digital spaces. "Our goal is not just about technological advancements, but also about being there for our citizens when they need us most," he said.
