PM Modi Slams Congress for Caste Politics, Urges Unity in Haryana Elections

Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Palwal, Haryana, strongly criticized the Congress party for its caste-based politics, accusing it of attempting to undermine patriotism by dividing the nation along caste and religious lines. He emphasized that Congress has not resolved the country’s core issues but has focused on securing its own political dynasty.

Addressing a large gathering, PM Modi said, “Congress kept the nation entangled in critical issues. They blocked the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and delayed the full implementation of the Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir. Congress deprived women of their reservation in Parliament and Assemblies and kept Muslim women trapped in the issue of triple talaq. Instead of solving the people’s problems, Congress has only worked to establish its own family." He also accused Congress of promoting divisions through casteism, stating, “Congress wants to crush patriotism by pitting one community against another.”

In addition to addressing the Haryana election, PM Modi urged voters in Jammu and Kashmir to cast their votes in the final phase of the elections. He expressed gratitude to the people of Haryana for their support, noting the large turnout at the rally as a sign of BJP's continued success in the state.

The Prime Minister also targeted Congress for its history of making empty promises. "Congress's strategy is neither to work nor to let others work. Their politics is confined to false promises, while BJP focuses on hard work and delivering results." PM Modi cited Congress's overconfidence in Haryana and Madhya Pradesh, where they expected power but were decisively defeated by the people.

PM Modi also addressed the ongoing infighting within the Congress, claiming that Dalits, backward classes, and marginalized communities are the most disillusioned with the party. He accused Congress of removing reservations for these communities in Karnataka and distributing the benefits to their political vote banks.

Calling Congress “the most deceitful and dishonest party,” PM Modi pointed to the situation in Himachal Pradesh, where the party, after winning elections, allegedly abandoned its promises, leaving the people disappointed.

Concluding his speech, PM Modi urged the people of Haryana to vote as a united front for the future of their children, the safety of their daughters, and the economic development of the state. "All those who love India must remain united. We must vote for a secure and prosperous future," he said, reminding the audience of Haryana's history of aligning with the government at the center.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini echoed PM Modi's sentiments, accusing Congress of following the principle of “lie and rule,” likening it to the British policy of “divide and rule.” He praised the BJP government for transforming the lives of the poor through initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Yojana, and providing essential services such as gas connections, electricity, and clean water.

The state of Haryana will go to the polls on October 5 to elect its 90-member legislative assembly, with vote counting set for October 8. In the last election in 2019, BJP emerged as the largest party with 40 seats, while Congress won 30.
