BYD eMAX 7 Review: The Electric MPV That Redefines Premium Style

Send Push

China’s electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD, first entered the Indian market in 2021 with the E6 electric MPV, initially targeting the fleet segment. As demand grew, the company soon made the vehicle available to private buyers. Now, three years later, BYD has refreshed the E6 with a mid-life update, rebranding it as the eMAX 7. This updated model promises to offer a more premium experience for its buyers.

A Larger and More Premium Design

The BYD eMAX 7 has grown in size compared to its predecessor, with noticeable increases in both length and height. While it’s still smaller than the Toyota Innova Hycross in overall proportions, the eMAX 7 is a more refined and stylish vehicle. The exterior design has undergone significant changes, making the electric MPV look sharper and more premium.

Dragon Face Design for a Bold Front

One of the standout features of the eMAX 7 is its striking front design, which BYD calls the "Dragon Face Design." The sleek, crystal diamond LED headlamps are positioned to resemble a pair of piercing eyes. These headlights are connected by a blade-like satin sliver slat that displays the BYD logo. The front bumper is now more pronounced, featuring a splitting line in the middle with large black intakes on either side, adding to the car’s bold, almost mischievous appearance.

Refined Alloy Wheels and Tail Lights

The eMAX 7 also features new dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, giving it a more premium feel. The rear of the vehicle is equally impressive, with new, sleeker LED taillights that are now connected for a more modern look. The overall aesthetic has a more cohesive and polished design compared to the previous model, with chrome accents replacing the E6’s black grille and side cladding.

Improved Cabin Experience

Inside, the BYD eMAX 7 offers a more refined cabin. The fit and finish have been significantly improved, with a mix of hard and soft-touch plastics elevating the interior quality. The seats are upholstered in premium faux leather and feature ventilated power-adjustable seats for both the driver and front passenger. These upgrades aim to enhance comfort and make the driving experience more enjoyable.

The BYD eMAX 7 delivers on both style and practicality, making it a solid option for those looking for a premium electric MPV with modern features.
