New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 30, 2022, on charges of money laundering linked to four companies, has been granted bail. Special Judge Vishal Gogne noted the lengthy trial delay and Jain's 18-month incarceration, stating that the prolonged process and the likelihood of further delays made him eligible for relief.

The court granted Jain bail on a bond of ₹50,000, accompanied by two sureties of the same amount. The ED's case against Jain originates from an FIR filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation in 2017 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

In response to the bail decision, AAP leader Manish Sisodia expressed his support for Jain on social media platform X, stating, "Satyamev Jayate. Long live the Constitution of the country. The dictatorship of the dictator slapped us once again." He criticized the lengthy detention, claiming Jain was imprisoned based on "false and baseless allegations" despite four raids on his residence yielding no incriminating evidence. Sisodia thanked the judiciary for upholding truth and justice in the case.
