Govt Plans For Farmers: The Modi government is running many schemes to strengthen the economic condition of farmers. He said that Rs 3 lakh crore has been distributed to 12.33 crore farmers under PM Kisan.

Modi 3.0 Govt: Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that in the first 100 days of the third term of the Modi government, many policies have been implemented in the interest of farmers, focusing on increasing agricultural productivity and exports. Shah told the media that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented policies worth Rs 15 lakh crore in 14 sectors of the economy in the first 100 days of its third term. Referring to the steps taken for the welfare of farmers, he said that the Modi government has launched the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund to support startups and rural enterprises.

Rs 14,200 crore allocated under seven schemes

He said that Rs 14,200 crore has been allocated under seven schemes to improve the lives of farmers. The minister mentioned the major achievements of the agriculture sector including the distribution of Rs 20,000 crore to 9.3 crore farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme. Shah said, 'We have distributed the 70th installment under PM-Kisan. So far, Rs 3 lakh crore has been distributed to 12.33 crore farmers.' Under the PM-Kisan scheme, Rs 6,000 is given annually which is deposited directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers through DBT.

Modi government bought more crops on MSP than UPA.

The minister said that agricultural policies are being implemented keeping in mind the welfare and prosperity of the farming community. He said, 'This will boost the country's food grain production and export, which will improve the condition of farmers.' Shah said, 'Modi government has bought more crops on MSP than the UPA government. This shows that the NDA government is committed to the farmers.' He said that MSP has been increased for the crops of the 2024-25 Kharif season.

Now ethanol can be made from maize as well.

The minister said that sugar mills are being converted into 'multi-feed distilleries' to boost ethanol production. He said, "Now the mills can make ethanol not only from sugarcane juice but also from maize. When sugarcane juice is needed to make sugar in the country, then ethanol will be made from maize. When there is more sugar production, then ethanol will be made from sugar juice." The Cooperation Minister said that to boost agricultural exports, the Minimum Export Price (MEP) has been removed on onion and Basmati rice.

Shah said that these policies are part of the government's comprehensive strategy to enhance farmer welfare and boost India's agricultural exports. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav was also present with Shah at the press conference.
