Leaders of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.) are set to convene in the capital today to present a united front and step up pressure on the Union government to convene a Special Session of Parliament in the wake of the .

The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday noon, comes amid growing calls from the Opposition to discuss key national security issues, including the Pahalgam attack, the Indian response under Operation Sindoor, and US President Donald Trump’s recent assertion that he has been mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Seven multi-party delegations from India are currently touring various global capitals to reorient the international discourse around Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. However, Opposition leaders have questioned the rationale of these diplomatic efforts while the government continues to delay summoning Parliament for an open and collective discussion on the crisis.

“This is not just about foreign briefings. Parliament must be the first platform where matters of national importance are discussed transparently,” a senior Opposition leader said ahead of the meeting.

Top leaders from across the I.N.D.I.A. bloc are expected to participate in Tuesday’s strategy huddle to finalise a plan for amplifying their demand. While several member parties have individually written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to call a Special Session, the bloc is now working on a consolidated approach.

Sources indicated that the alliance is preparing a collective memorandum, endorsed by all I.N.D.I.A. Members of Parliament, reiterating their request. A final decision on sending the signed letter to the Prime Minister is likely to be taken during the course of today’s meeting.

The unified stance is aimed at signalling to the government that the demand is not fragmented, but represents a broad-based political consensus within the Opposition.
