John Whaite - 2012 image

Following his success in the Bake Off tent, John Whaite was asked to appear on another popular reality TV show - Strictly Come Dancing. John first became a household name thanks to his impressive win in series three of Bake Off. A

While he went on to study for his patisserie diploma from Parisian school Le Cordon Bleu, John also released cookery books following his time on the show. He has also co-hosted ITV's Chopping Block, while in 2015 he launched John Whaite's Kitchen Cookery School in a converted cattle shed.

He later regularly appeared on Steph's Packed Lunch. However, his career took a huge turn when he became an Only Fans creator. He launched under the name "Jonny Boy," where he shares "solo and collaborative" content alongside his baking business Ruff Puff Brownies.

Ruby Tandoh - 2013 image

The 2013 runner-up admitted she doesn't watch the show anymore and was involved in a public feud with Paul Hollywood after her time in the tent. When she walked into the famous white tent during series four back in 2013, the former model was a first-year history and art student at University College London.

And after leaving the show, she became a best-selling author, got married and had aa very public spat with Paul. It came after rumours of the pair's flirtatious behaviour was put to bed after Ruby's social media announcement on her sexuality. Paul called her out for involving him in her reveal.

And the tension between the pair reignited when Bake Off moved to Channel 4 in 2016. At the time, Ruby blasted Paul for not following in the footsteps of Mary Berry, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc in quitting the series.

"A peacocking manchild lingering wherever the money is, I am shocked," she brutally wrote. "This from a man who turned up to work revving a rental Lamborghini, or Ferrari. I don't remember, but the air was thick with testosterone.

"Call me Ishmael - my child, it was a dark time: shirts tucked into bootcut jeans and the season's first dusting of spray tan on the ground. We locked in battle with a mythic beast, both bright white and mahogany, man and baby, ego and terrible, terrible fragility all at once."

Nadiya Hussain - 2015 image

Nadiya is thought to be Bake Off’s most successful contestant. She is believed to be worth around £4million thanks to her work as a television presenter and author. In 2016, she was chosen to bake the Queen’s 90th birthday cake and four years later was awarded an MBE.

Nadiya once teased that there are some of the downsides of winning the show, telling the Express: "There are so many wonderful things about being well known and doing a job I absolutely love. I have so much fun, it doesn't really feel like a job, actually. But it has its downsides, too."

Following her win, she has hosted shows such as Nadiya Bakes, Nadiya's Fast Flavours and Nadiya's Simple Spices for the BBC.

Steven Carter-Bailey - 2017 image

Runner-up Steven was a huge hit on the show in 2017. However, he lost out in a tense final, with Sophie Faldo claiming the accolade.

Despite not bagging top spot, Steven managed to forge an impressive career post-Bake Off. Now an internet personality, Steven actually won the New Year edition of the show in 2019.

As well as his work in the kitchen, Steven continued to teach at the prestigious Leiths School of Food and Wine. He also was on hand to create his cakes for corporate clients and celebrity parties. He also took on a role as podcast host and became a radio presenter.

Jurgen Krauss - 2021 image

Jurgen's exit from his season angered viewers so much, Ofcom received 115 complaints from angry viewers. He later admitted in a chat with the Guardian that people were so invested that he had to call three families with crying kids to try to comfort them.

However, after the dust had settled, Jurgen confirmed he was happy with how things panned out - and has now continued to share culinary delights in recipe books. In October, he is set to release his latest offering - a German Christmas cookbook.

He claims it will "again take you back to the culinary pleasures and stories from my childhood in the Black Forest, centered around the preparations and celebration of Christmas" and will have over 20 recipes for varieties of biscuits and sweet treats.
