Ryder Cup opening pairings confirmed as team captains make announcement

The opening pairings for the 2025 Ryder Cup after being confirmed after announcements from team captains Luke Donald and Keegan Bradley. The tournament will take place at Bethpage Black in New York as Team Europe look to retain the trophy they won two years ago in Rome.

Thursday night saw Donald and Bradley name the pairings that will tee off on Friday morning for the opening round of foursomes at the start of this year's Ryder Cup. Donald confirmed that Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton will be the first pairing for Team Europe that will tee off at 7.10am EST (12.10pm BST).

Rahm and Hatton will take on Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas in the first foursome match after Bradley confirmed the Team USA opening pairing. They will be followed by match two, which will see Ludvig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick take on World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.

Rory McIlroy will then head out in the third match of the day and will be joined by Tommy Fleetwood as they take on Collin Morikawa & Harris English. The final match of Friday foursomes will see Robert MacIntyre & Viktor Hovland face Xander Schauffele & Patrick Cantlay.

Team Europe will be hoping for a repeat of the 2023 Ryder Cup, which saw them claim a 16.5-11.5 win over Team USA in Rome. Donald and Co. will certainly be hoping for a better outcome than the last tournament hosted in the US, which saw Europe lose 19-9 at Whistling Straits.
