Liverpool have approached Newcastle United over a remarkable deal to sign Alexander Isak.
The Reds have yet to make an offer for the Sweden international, but are said to be willing to do a deal in the region of £120m, having already signed Florian Wirtz for up to £116m this summer. Newcastle maintain that Isak is not for sale, but Liverpool have expressed their intention to try and change their minds.
As reported by The Athletic, Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike also remains on Liverpool's radar, but Newcastle also hold an interest in the Frenchman. Sky Sports reported on Tuesday that the Magpies have had a £70m bid rejected for Ekitike.
Liverpool have yet to enter into talks with Frankfurt over Ekitike, and they would not sign both the 23-year-old and Isak.

Isak has scored 62 goals in 109 Newcastle appearances, and found the net when the Magpies beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley in March.
Liverpool's have had a long-term interest in him ever since he broke through at Swedish club AIK as a teenager, before further spells at Borussia Dortmund and Real Sociedad, from whom he joined Newcastle for a club record £63m in August 2022, before scoring on his Magpies debut against Liverpool at Anfield five days later.
Isak, 25, had his most fruitful Premier League season in front of goal in the 2024-25 campaign, when he hit 23 strikes to finish second to Liverpool's Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot.
Liverpool are remaining sensitive to market moves as the club seeks to recover from the tragic loss of forward Diogo Jota earlier this month, but the Reds are aware that new additions need to be made to the squad which won the Premier League title in Arne Slot's first campaign.

As well as the addition of Wirtz, full-backs Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong have been added to the squad this summer, while on Tuesday it emerged that the Reds had rejected a bid for Colombian attacker Luis Diaz from Bayern Munich thought to be around £58m.
Darwin Nunez is another player who has attracted much interest this summer, with the Uruguayan being monitored by Napoli ahead of a potential move to Serie A.
