Former I'm A Celebrity campmate Frankie Dettori has revealed that he was rushed to hospital after reportedly falling from a horse.
The jockey, 53, shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed on Friday morning and announced that he's dislocated his shoulder. He's thanked fans for their support and teased that his shoulder has now been "put back together".
Alongside the photo, Frankie wrote on Instagram: "I appreciate all the messages. I'm doing OK! I dislocated my right shoulder - my team here in the hospital have put it back together. Thanks for the messages of concern, it means a lot."
The post comes following reports that he was thrown from his horse Pretty Liza ahead of a race in New York on Thursday. Frankie - who relocated to the US last year - was riding at Aqueduct racetrack. As previously reported, New York Racing Association communications officer Keith McCalmont tweeted: "Pretty Liza unseated [Frankie] at the gate before the start of the @TheNYRA 9th. The horse was scratched and walked off. Dettori walked to the ambulance and will attend [hospital] for further evaluation."
Frankie's had a decade-long career as a jockey, having made his debut more than 30 years ago. He announced in 2022 that he would retire the following year but later shared that he had changed his mind, saying: "At the moment, because I'm still winning and the adrenaline is still there, the public still follow me - I'm sorry everyone, I made a mistake, I shouldn't have said I was going to retire."
