Eggs prove to be an incredibly versatile component in the kitchen, effortlessly transitioning from breakfast to dinner. Whether savoured within a dish or brightening plates on their own as poached, scrambled, or fried variants, eggs delight with each preparation. To sidestep the pitfalls of and to hasten the process, recipe book author Dannii Martin, creator of the Hungry Healthy Happy food blog, has divulged her "perfect" technique.
Dannii veers away from traditional methods, advocating the use of a microwave rather than a pan swimming in oil. She advises: "Our easy for microwave-fried eggs gives you the perfect egg in just under two minutes."

Highlighting the promise of firm whites paired with a liquid yolk, she explains that the magic happens within a bowl in the microwave, guaranteeing immaculate fried eggs every time, thus streamlining morning routines.
The sole essential component of this recipe? Eggs - preferably as fresh as possible and brought up to room temperature prior to use.
Dannii confides her preference for medium-sized eggs, noting that the dimensions of the egg dictate the timing of the cook, , reports .
The second must-have is spray oil, ensuring the eggs release cleanly from their vessel. In the absence of spray oil, a touch of regular oil coating the base of the bowl will suffice.
For execution, begin by misting a microwaveable bowl or ramekin with oil. Crack the egg into it and sharply prick the yolk with the tapered end of a knife – this precautionary step averts any messy eruptions.
Next, place a microwave-safe plate on top of the bowl and put it in the microwave. Cook on high for 30 seconds. Afterwards, leave it for one minute and then check the egg.
There will still be a lot of heat in the bowl after the first 30 seconds of cooking, but leaving it for one minute allows the egg to cook from the heat and steam, and sets the whites of the egg, without overcooking the yolk.
Cook for an additional 15 seconds then check again. It may need 10 seconds more, depending on how you like your eggs cooked.
For those looking to cook more than one egg, they will need to use a larger bowl.
