The Queen did not attend the Duchess of Kent's funeral on Tuesday afternoon. She had been due to be at the requiem mass alongside her husband King Charles but she instead kept away to recover from acute sinusitis.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson previously said: "With great regret, Her Majesty The Queen has withdrawn from attendance at this afternoon’s Requiem Mass for The Duchess of Kent as she is recovering from acute sinusitis. Her thoughts and prayers will be with The Duke of Kentand all the family."
The Duke of Kent was informed and was said to have backed Camilla's decision, and sent his wishes for a speedy recovery. Queen Camilla travelled down from Scotland to Windsor yesterday morning where she rested.
