Tragic Suicide of Jalaun Student Following Love Affair and Broken Engagement

In a heartbreaking incident from Madhogarh, Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, 22-year-old Sheetal Dohre, a BSc student, took her own life by hanging herself in her room. The cause of her distress and eventual suicide is believed to be related to a love affair, threats from her boyfriend, and the resulting broken engagement.

Sheetal had been in a long-standing relationship with Vivek Thakur, a local young man from Madhogarh. However, when her family arranged her marriage, the boy's family broke off the engagement due to the ongoing affair. This turn of events reportedly sent Sheetal into a deep depression, leading to her tragic decision. Sheetal's family revealed that she had been devastated by the rupture of her marriage and had stopped eating or engaging in normal activities since the incident.

On April 25, an altercation occurred when Vivek confronted Sheetal's father, Brijmohan, and even attempted to attack him with a knife. Following this confrontation, Sheetal's family filed a police complaint, and Vivek was summoned to the police station for counseling. Despite a mutual agreement between the two families to end all contact between the couple, the constant threats and rumors from Vivek caused further emotional strain on Sheetal.

On the evening of April 29, Sheetal locked herself in her room, and her family later discovered her body hanging from a noose. The family, devastated and in shock, immediately informed the police. The local authorities, led by Inspector Brijesh Bahadur Singh, have initiated an investigation into the incident, with the postmortem report expected to shed further light on the circumstances.

Although the police currently view this as a suicide, they are examining whether anyone, including Vivek, might have played a role in instigating her actions. The case remains under investigation, and the community mourns the loss of a bright young woman with a promising future.
