Assembly elections are going to start very soon in Uttar Pradesh and in these elections, the BJP government is trying its best to come back. Perhaps this is the reason that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is making new schemes and announcements for the local people, especially for the farmers, recently the state government has taken an important decision, which promises to provide much-needed relief to those who cultivate paddy. Everything you need to know about the upcoming paddy procurement process, let's know about it-
Dates of starting procurement:
Western Uttar Pradesh: Procurement of paddy will start from October 1 and will continue till January 31, 2025. It includes Meerut, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Agra, Aligarh and Jhansi districts.
Eastern Uttar Pradesh: Procurement will start from November 1 and will continue till February 28, 2025. The affected mandals include Gorakhpur, Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Devipatan, Basti, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Mirzapur.
Registration Process:
Farmers will have to register online for the procurement process which began on September 1. It is necessary for farmers to complete their registration to ensure smooth transactions.
The government has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy at Rs 2300 per quintal, while grade A paddy has a higher MSP of Rs 2320 per quintal. This price will be applicable in all districts of the state, ensuring fair compensation to farmers.
The decision is expected to benefit farmers immensely, giving them a reliable income source and stability during the harvesting season.
