The incident took place on September 30, when 58-year-old Malti Verma received a fake WhatsApp call on her mobile. The caller claimed that her daughter was trapped in a wrongdoing and she would have to send one lakh rupees to save her. Malti Verma spoke to her son, who explained to her that it was a fraud. Nevertheless, Malti was so mentally hurt by the incident that she suffered a heart attack four hours later and died.

A teacher who became a victim of cyber fraud died a painful death

Malti Verma was a teacher at the Government Girls Junior High School, Achhnera, Agra. In the call she received, the caller introduced himself as a police officer and said that her daughter has been caught in a sex racket. To save her, one lakh rupees must be sent immediately. Malti was so scared by this false news that she immediately requested her son Divyanshu to send money. The fraudster tried to scare her by using a DP with a police officer's uniform and threatened that if the money is not sent, her daughter's video will be made viral and she will be sent to jail.

Mental stress started due to fake WhatsApp call

During this fake call, the fraudster held Malti Verma mentally hostage for about four hours. During this time, eight consecutive calls were made to her. Divyanshu, who understood that it was a fake call, tried his best to convince his mother that her daughter Vanshika was completely safe. Divyanshu also contacted his sister and showed through video call that she was safe in college. Despite this, Malti could not recover from the mental stress and remained constantly worried.

But Malti could not recover from the shock

After returning home from school, Malti Verma's health started deteriorating. Her family immediately rushed her to the hospital, but four hours later she suffered a heart attack and died. After this incident, Malti Verma's entire family is in deep shock. Her son Divyanshu, husband Shivcharan Singh and daughter-in-law Rekha are very sad about this incident. Agra ACP Mayank Tiwari said that the matter is being thoroughly investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits soon.
