A 32-year-old bus cleaner was injured after being hit by a truck that lost control in Thane early Tuesday morning. The cleaner has been identified as Harshal Kaskar, 32, who was accompanying the bus as it travelled from Mira Road to the Mulund depot.
The incident occurred in the Gaimukh area near the Gaimukh Police Chowki on Ghodbunder Road when a truck loaded with bottles, heading to Mumbai from Gujarat, lost control and hit the bus, causing it to overturn. Kaskar sustained minor head injuries.

There were no passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. The bus driver, identified as Pratap Narayan Pawar, and the cleaner, Kaskar, were the only two people onboard.
Yasin Tadvi, Chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation, said, “We received information about the truck that had overturned on the road. We promptly dispatched two hydra machines, one JCB, one pickup, a fire brigade team, and one rescue vehicle to the spot.”
According to RDMC officials, the process of removing the bottles and shifting the truck to the side of the road was initiated using the JCB. The overturned bus was also moved to the side using the hydra machine. Traffic movement from Ghodbunder towards Thane was slow for approximately two and a half hours due to the incident.
An FIR has been filed against the truck driver, identified as Dinanath Gupta, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nayi Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
