A stepmother has been booked by Rabale Police under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, for allegedly harassing, threatening, and neglecting her 12-year-old stepdaughter. The case was registered after the girl’s father discovered her personal diary detailing repeated abuse and approached the police.
Allegations of Physical Assault and Neglect
According to investigators, the girl lives with her father in Airoli while mother is currently at their hometown. In her diary, she wrote about being beaten without reason, denied food, threatened with death, and refused medical care for injuries. The alleged abuse allegedly began after the child came to know about her stepmother’s relationships with other men.

The father also stated in his complaint that the child would often wake up crying at night crying. The girl reportedly kept the abuse hidden and recorded the incidents privately in her diary instead of telling her father. The alleged offences took place between 2023 and October 2024.
