Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya struck moments after suffering an injury scare in the massive IPL 2025 game against the SunRisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. The seam-bowling all-rounder sent Abhishek Sharma packing for 40 to give the home side their first breakthrough of the innings.

With Karn Sharma already suffering an injury to his hand, the fans were inevitably worried as Pandya was limping in the eighth over, which proved to be the first of his innings. After Abhishek Sharma hit a boundary, Pandya had to have some treatment to his ankle but bounced back with a wicket as the left-hander holed out a bouncer to deep backward point.

Mumbai Indians had won the toss and opted to field first

Earlier, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and has elected to bowl first at the Wankhede Stadium against the SunRisers Hyderabad as they look to continue their winning run in IPL 2025. Pandya suggested that dew factor is the reason he elects to field first and both sides announced an unchanged XI.

MI playing XI: Ryan Rickelton(w), Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya(c), Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Karn Sharma.

SRH playing XI: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen(w), Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Aniket Verma, Pat Cummins(c), Harshal Patel, Zeeshan Ansari, Mohammed Shami, Eshan Malinga
