Samsung has officially paused the global rollout of its much-anticipated One UI 7 update, just days after its initial release.
The update, based on Android 15, had started rolling out to flagship devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and some A-series phones.
According to Android Authority, the Korean electronics giant confirmed the delay on its Korean community forums. It further said that the pause was due to maintenance issues that have since been resolved and the update rollout is expected to be resumed shortly.
What went wrong with One UI 7?
While Samsung hasn’t detailed the issue, user reports—especially from South Korea—suggest a serious bug may be to blame.
Some Galaxy S24 users have complained about being unable to unlock their phones after installing the update. The issue first gained attention when leaker Ice Universe shared the news on X, claiming the bug prompted Samsung to pull the update from its servers globally.
In a follow-up post, the leaker revealed that the problem was severe enough for Samsung to halt the rollout in all countries, including China. Discussions on Samsung’s Korean community forums echoed similar concerns.
“The reason for the delay in the Galaxy S24 push is that users of the official version of One UI7 of the Korean S24 series found that "they could not be unlocked normally in some cases,” the user wrote.
“Samsung urgently reviewed the firmware withdrawal in other countries.Have you ever encountered a bug where your Galaxy phone occasionally cannot be unlocked?” They added.
The X account also said that the update rollout will be continued from April 15.
According to The Verge, the update has now been removed from Samsung’s servers, and older firmware versions are once again listed as the latest.
Status by Region: What about India?
Samsung initially rolled out the stable One UI 7 update in South Korea on April 7, followed by releases in Europe, the US, and Canada.
In India, the rollout began in phases, but not all eligible users received it before the pause. It’s now unclear when—or if—users in India will see the update resume.
Samsung is expected to continue soon.
